On March 4, the school district hosted a forum to discuss the repercussions of the governor's state aid cuts, and how it will affect the school's fiscal state for the 2010-11 budget. If the Department of Education reports are to be trusted it looks like there will be a tax increase in Clifton’s school budget of $76 for a house valued at $200,000. Of that $76, $70 is fixed and cannot be changed, no matter how Clifton votes. It is for underfunded pension and for outside tuition costs. The most that can be abated is $6.
