Governor Christie, you promised to make education funding your top priority, but you have cut state aid by over a billion dollars. Your budget has hundreds of millions in cuts to education, school lunches, and adult learning and training.

And now we find out that you want to put a 2% cap on property taxes. This even tighter tax cap proposal will decimate local services, including destroying one of the best public education systems in the country, by choking off local revenue.

As a state we are struggling. The last thing we need is another way to eliminate funding for education and other critical public services. Do your part to protect New Jersey’s future. We urge you to reconsider your tax cap plan.
